How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes

You want to always clean your brushes because the product will buildup and cause bacteria from the natural transfer of oils and air pollutants from your face to the brush. You want to clean you brushes once a week.

  1.  Use a gentle soap or brush cleaner

  2. Gentle massage the brush hairs until the product  dissolves from the brush.

  3. Always hold your brush downward to rinse all the soap off your brush. This step is very important because the water and soap can cause the glue to disintegrate and bristles of the brush will become loose and start shedding.

  4. Repeat this step if necessary

  5. Squeeze out the excess moisture with a clean towel

  6. Reshape the brush head

  7. Lay the brushes on a flat surface to dry.

Things NOT To Do:

Do not  dry your brushes vertically.

Why: If you dry your brushes vertically it will cause the water  to leak into the ferrule, which will loosen the glue and cause bristle loss.

  1. Never soak your brushes in water or brush cleaner.

Why: If you soak your brushes in water or brush cleaner, you can damage the wood  handle on your brushes and can also loosen the glue thats holding the brush together.
